Description The central Drakensberg near Champagne Castle Hotel in South Africa. We recently went for a long weekend away to this place and it is absolutely breathtaking the view! It was almost impossible to tear our eyes away from these mountains. I have been going there for most of my life but every single time just leaves me in awe. The quietness and peace completely envelopes you and leaves you feeling like anew person.

This was my first attempt at painting with watercolour paint and I think I will be doing some more in the future

I was born there! We moved to the Netherlands when i was almost 4 though so i dont have memories of it other than when we went back for a month when i was 13.
Would love to go back again though to show my bf my routs! How about you?

That's really cool! I live in South Africa Not near the Drakensberg unfortunately. But this picture is from a photo I took when my bf and I were there on holiday.
I hear it's really beautiful in the Netherlands. I myself have never been out of the country but we would really love to travel and see other countries a bit. Europe especially!

The netherlands is fascinating because it has zero mountains. xD it's as flat as a pancake. But that has it's beauty too. If you do come to the netherlands you should try their snacks!
The food here is nothing compared to south africa (and they don't have cream soda here ;- but the snacks are really good! ♡ I'd love to travel to other european countries though.
Luxembourg is tiny but very worth it if you just want to have a relaxing couple of days. It's really pretty there!

That's very interesting. But yeah, flatness definitely has its beauty too. And being a cyclist the flatness is definitely appealing because it's easier....although hills and mountains are sometimes required Thanks for the tip! I'll most definitely try some of the snacks I think I'd agree with you that tiny places are nice for just relaxing. I prefer them to big cities anyway and they are always so fascinating!

Fascinating indeed!
It's like a whole other world and the people there were so nice. And it was incredibly safe there too!
I used to love cycling! Especially in the countryside because it gave you a sense of peace and freedome. ♡

That sounds Awesome! Safety is not something we are too used to in SA. Locking everything behind you kind of has to be second nature. Which sucks
It does indeed! We also cycle out on the farm roads and the things and places you see on your bike you'd never really get in your car to go visit

No exactly! I remember stories of my parants about how 'safe' it is there or when i was 13 and we went to SA for 4 weeks we weren't allowed to play in the front yard. Only the back and only when an adult was at home.
Still SA is absolutely beautiful and i still miss it ♡ And i completely agree! Cycling across the countryside here was always so very peaceful!

It is absolutely stunning! The thought of maybe having to leave one day saddens me a bit. I would miss it too. But you should absolutely come visit SA again and show your boyfriend. I hope you get an opportunity to!

We're planning on saving up once we have our flat sorted out and after we've payed off my bfs education shenanigans!
Planning on taking my parents with seeing my mom keeps going on about never being able to go back and how she'd llove to see certain family members and friends one last time.
So I can't wait to just one day walk up to her and be like, here are the tickets and you can't say no! I'll phone her work in advance asking for leave and ask if they don't tell her.
I can't wait to see her face!

Yeah I can imagine that it's important to her or it would mean a lot to be able to see certain people here again. Your plan sounds so awesome! She's going to love it!
