Description A Day in the Life...Part 2Previously: On a cold and dank morning at Phinda Vlei Reserve we had come across the Northern Pride of lions strolling through the bush. A Day in the Life... Part 1 Two young males had separated from the pride, and, having killed a mongoose for fun, had become lost while the rest of the pride moved on to seek a sheltered area to sleep away the day. Dawww poor baby.

I smiled reading in your journal, how smart the cats are, how they've learnt to utilize the man-made roads in order to avoid such instances. ! !

Yeah - not just the big cats, but elephants and other beasties. But, the cats know that moving through the bush can be a problem for example ticks lie in wait, thorns get in paws and can deal nasty scratches and gashes, and the cats cannot see far ahead. Tracks and roads are by far the best way to move if they are going in the right direction.
