A TS lens is not one to be recommended to everyone, Steven. You need to learn a lot about how to control it.

Pretty cool shot! The stairs stay in focus all the time...

Hi Wiebe - many thanks - yes, there is certainly the desired effect of having the image only partially in focus - particularly noticeable if you zoom in. I think I need to rein back on how much blur I create.
Cheers

It's worth zooming in to see how the focus varies, Maria. I'm still learning how to control this.
Many thanks.

The sharpness given by the focus on the steps/handrail allow us seeing the depth. Beautiful shot.

Thank you for that, Mayumi. So, the depth effect shows up well here?

I already thought this must have been done with a tilt-shift lens, the miniaturizing abilities they have are unmatched by editing stuff afterwards in photoshop etc.
Great shot! I was on the fence between this one, and the canal one, but I think this one shows the miniature effect even better.
Very lovely~

Thank you for this very helpful comment, Max. Do you see the miniaturisation effect in this shot? I have been trying to obtain some clear examples of it but I cannot see, with my eyes, any real results. The first image in this series certainly shows some optical effect with the tree on the right out of focus compared to the trees in focus, but again that doesn't seem to me to be that miniaturisation effect.
Many Thanks.
David

Many thanks for the further feedback, Max, I'll look at the originals again and do some more contrast editing to see if I can get my eyes in tune.
Cheers
