Description Some Scottish WildlifeAll of the following shots were captured, hand-held, with my Canon 5D Mark III equipped with the new to me Canon EF 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 L II USM lens plus the Canon Extender EF 1.4 III, giving a maximum focal length of 560 mm. This lens/extender combination appears to give excellent quality images from about 1 meter to infinity, even when hand-held. Most of the wildlife shots were taken using the Tv mode at 1/1000th second on normal continuous shoot and at maximum aperture, allowing the ISO value to float on the auto setting. I used spot metering rather than evaluative as an appropriate exposure for the subjects was not necessarily the exposure that would be suggested by evaluative metering. I would be interested to hear from other wildlife photographers about the merits of different metering modes. Images were captured mainly at the Ken Dee Marshes and at Mersehead in Dumfries and Galloway.
The Journal should be viewed full screen as should the individual shots for best viewing.

This one is a bot raggedy - I think he must have just woken up!

Many thanks, Lucy.
