Description Bodnant Garden Part 2Bodnant Garden Part 2 - Blooms
In Part 1 of this essay, Bodnant Garden Part 1, I outlined a brief history of Bodnant Garden, one of the foremost country house gardens in the UK that is run by our National Trust.  I illustrated a number of areas within this 80 acre spread, and noted the the Garden is renowned for its rhododendrons, magnolias, eucryphia and embothrium species. In addition, there are numerous cultivars of camellias.  In this second part, the thrust is on the blooms from plants and shrubs flowering in Spring.
My first shots are of some tulips with an acknowledgement to my good friend Sheri, Scooby777 to whom I was lamenting that our wickedly cold Spring had delayed the growth and flowering of tulips in our gardens. Bodnant Garden is sheltered and in a milder position, hence tulips were in profusion during my visit.

Many thanks, Ann. This colouration seems to appeal to lots of folk, but the deep red ones and the purple are those that really stand out in the garden.
