300x Death Glider (fifteen squadrons)

Standard Complement:

180x Light Death Glider multirole combat aerospacecraft (nine squadron)

60x Heavy Death Glider fighter-bomber (three squadron)

Role:

heavy reconnaissance

command ships for task forces
high precision planetary bombardment

fighting enemy forces

protection of trade routes

performing special missions

support for allied units (space and planetary)

support of battleships and carriers

mobile garrison/outpost

transport of planetary force vehicles

long-range artillery support for ground forces

Cargo Capacity:

2.307.756 m³ (maximum capacity when the hangars are used as cargo holds) = 918.984 m³ (cargo holds only) + 3x 462.924m³ (hangars)

Specificity:

  • in terms of prestige and reputation, but also in terms of numbers, the most important warship of the Jaffa Nation Navy

  • already an all-round ship in Goa'uld times, this aspect has intensified in the following centuries

  • on the one hand, this development was favoured by the fact that the JNN, like all large space fleets of the Milky Way, adopted the concept of hangar decks as multifunctional multi-purpose rooms and not only as rooms exclusively for maintenance, repair and accommodation of smaller spacecraft, from the Pendergast-Class fleet carriers of the IUSP

  • this also included the adoption of the technology of the so-called "shape memory walls", or "shape walls" for short,

  • these "walls" are made of a composite material with memory and morphing properties

  • when not needed or when more space is needed, these "walls" can be folded up like a thick “foil” and stored in small recesses in the ceiling or floor or in small mobile containers to save space

  • if they are needed, a small electrical voltage is applied to the "foil", whereupon the "foil" unfolds and becomes a solid wall with metal-like material properties, which can even be used as a load-bearing wall(This process is visually similar to inflating an air mattress)

  • this way, the huge halls that make up the hangar decks can be separated into more or less smaller areas

  • in addition, there are standardised connections for energy, computers, etc., via which all kinds of devices and components can be connected and operated in every room of a spaceship (e.g. a welding machine in the operating theatre, a heart-lung machine in the hangar)

  • the all-round character of the modern Ha'tak is further enhanced by the introduction of the Ka'da modules (Goa'uld for enhance, expand, strengthen), a pure FJN concept

  • these are modules attached to brackets in the area above and below the hangar doors, which does not even require a shipyard, although shipyard visits make the work easier and faster

  • the modules each improve a particular aspect of a Ha'tak (troop carrying capacity, hangar capacity, etc.) (details follow in a separate datasheet/overview)

  • the Ha'tak shown here belongs to the newest series

  • the equipment of this ship already takes into account the presence of Mandrillus in the Milky Way by replacing one third of the 363 Staff Turrets with Ab'Bet Tyamka

  • the remaining Staff Turrets are state of the art for Staff Weapons

  • this means that the turrets can be continuously adjusted by the weapons officers to the respective combat situation

  • the adjustment options range from a highly concentrated plasma bolt that has a relatively high kinetic penetrating power and a very high rate of fire of up to 120 rounds per minute (rpm)

  • to the standard setting of a plasma bolt with a rate of fire of 45 rpm, which is equivalent to the power of a Goa'uld-era Ha'tak, the effect of this standard plasma bolt is equal parts kinetic and thermal

  • up to the high power setting of primary explosive plasma bolts with a low firing rate of 12 rpm

  • thus, depending on the setting, these standard turrets can optimally engage all targets, which considerably simplifies and thus accelerates the set-up of the Ha`tak

  • therefore, modern Ha'taks no longer need special turrets, which are respectively used as rapid-fire weapons against fighters, as weapons against capital ships or for bombarding heavily armoured, mostly planetary targets
