Description Meet the newest member of the locomotive fleet, a Mehano USRA light 4-6-2. The model was first made in 1973 for Life-Like. In 1976, it was sold by AHM, and then by IHC from around 1980. This one is I believe either an early IHC or a late AHM. The lack of separately fitted handrails being the best indicator. The prototype was a standard design by the USRA in 1917 and was to replace and consolidate the myriad of different designs of locomotives from the many manufacturers. In those days, the locomotives were tailored to the needs and wants of the individual railroad companies. These USRA designs were the closest we in America got to a standard design.
