I think the beard looks ok, if you are refering to the sideburn area its a dificult one to call
near the nose and slightly to the sides you could streak in some skin tone, again this is a dificult area.
generaly when somone is that old "perticularly with males" if anything there skin is very pale or white so it would blend.

simple photos are somtimes more dificult to as there is nothing to colour.
nice skin tones and the purple on the tie with the bit of gold set it of just right.
only critique i would have adjusted the levels on the eyes to white the eyebals a bit and maybee the iris may have came up a bit to add a touch of colour.
coloured the fob watch lanyard gold.
and maybee removed some of the damage in the bottom left corner of the picture.

What I personally don't like in this colouring is his beard on the cheeks, too much contrast between colour of the skin and colour of his beard. I will have to fix it.
