I certainly did not! I give to all fans, I do not sell. Uberthanks for thinking about me, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing I can do about it.

It's damn close here, damn close. Knowing his story (what there is to be had of it) you can see the dread here.Β

I think that unless there was an Archdemon, Duncan wanted to live.Β Β

I know, but Duncan is so much about duty, and I think (not alone in this) that Duncan, realising how far Loghain would go in his distrust of Orlais, would have withdrawn his Wardens. Stopping the blight is always his mantra, whichever origin.

Oh completely. Duncan wouldn't have gone into a battle like that knowing they were going to fail and then risk letting the blight spread unchecked.

Wonderful picture. I never liked Duncan much, my Warden didn't want to be a grey warden and though she had to be for the game to progress I disliked that he forced her and in the joining said they had no choice. It was like, she was forced into the circle, forced into the grey wardens and then at the end is betrayed by Alistair who put himself first. With a mage warden is it like she won the war for everyone, then they all just buggered off and left her behind. I blame Duncan for her pain XD

Why don't more people talk about this? Β I felt the same way in my first playthrough (with a Dalish elf), which was late to the game so already people were raving about Alistair and how sweet he was. Β Perhaps at first, and then he just checked out. Β I got more genuine affection from an assassin raised in a brothel who freely admitted he had no concept of what love really meant. Β In the end, he was still by my side. Β *shrugs*

I agree, everyone raves about Alistair but in reality unless you are a noble he acts like a total jerk and then only cares about his own feelings.Β

That is how I saw it, too. Β I do think those whole RP outside of the context of the game are able to enjoy him a lot more, since they can sort of fill in the gaps that are missing from the narrative, but I pretty much stick to what is presented in the game. Β That's why I prefer Zevran.

This makes me think of The Hero of Ferelden encountering Duncan in the Fade one last time. If my Warden from DA: Origins had this dream, he would try to find out why Duncan looked so sad... Β perhaps for leaving him and Alistair alone with such a huge task...
This should be the opening of a Dragon Age Inquisition DLC which you play as The hero of ferelden. Take note Bioware!
When an art is amazing, you can imagine an entire story behind it.

Ah, you caught me, the one's that turn out the best usually have have a story (there are exceptions like the B&W Hawke, but that was a sketch going good). I love Duncan's character (that's discounting 'the calling' which I made an effort to read but only managed one third.) If Duncan had survived Ostagar he would have withdrawn the wardens to (Orlais probably) he had a larger scope.
