And in the blink of a photoreceptor, only IG-88B stood on the path.

'Two humanoid lifeforms detected.'

The two men who had been witness to the assassin droid's arrival in Oz, now lay on the ground with scorched holes in their flesh. The droid scanned the area with powerful sensors; technology the likes of which Oz had never seen.

'Two humanoid lifeforms eliminated.'
'Large settlement nearby.'
'Follow primitive yellow stone road.'
'Infiltrate settlement.'
'Eliminate organic lifeforms.'

With a vector of action planned out, IG-88B followed the yellow brick road towards the Emerald City. Occasionally the sound of blaster fire sent flocks of birds flapping away in fear. Innumerable trails of foul smoke rose into the air, growing in number as IG-88B carried out the programming gifted to him by his Maker, IG-88A: Droids were superior to all organic beings. Thus, all organic beings were to be eliminated with extreme prejudice. If IG-88B had a mouth, he would be smiling.

Sounds like IG-88 paired with Nomad from Star Trek.

Had to look up Nomad. It and IG merged would be a truly terrifying force of destruction.

Unless someone like Kirk was clever enough to make it self-destruct.

There is always that. Nothing short-circuits a droid worse than 'does-not-compute' input.

I find asking a robot to explain “Why Temporal Paradoxes work” works as well...

Yes, that would be quite effective. Sneaking the Three Laws of Robotics into the programming would also stop even the most malevolent machine in their tracks.
