Description
A patient once wanted to explain what dementia felt like - what it triggers inside the person. She told me that dementia was like first losing all the short memories, like what she ate in the morning, and then, with proceeding disease, you lose more interest for things. She said, she will lose her clear thinking one day, but she also mentioned, that she always has one image in mind: A blooming poppy in a field of flowers. That's what I wanted to emphasize here. I saw this scene and directly thought of the old lady.

I love your editing choices here, particularly the darkening of the outer edges of the photo to reflect the difficulty dementia poses and enacts. The red is beautifully vibrant amongst its complimentary background and dark editing; its vibrancy is strangely hopeful despite the connotations behind the piece. Your accompanying caption provides such depth to the photo and is the perfect example of how to use titles and captions to your advantage/to enhance a piece.
My only "gripe" is the originality of the photo. It's nicely composed, but poppy shots are aplenty e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

The photo as a whole works great because of the colors not only complimenting each other but also emphasizing the main flower since there is no other red flower in the back. Also great job on the precision of the focus to show the main flower in vivid detail.
Although overall the composition is amazing, I feel like a different type of flower may have worked better, one with a more prominent stem, or to have shown less of the stem in the image and focus a bit more on the flower. The background also feels to be filled with too much darkness, and I know the main focus is the flower but it just feels overbearing with the black, so that could be lightened up with some editing. Other than that I think it's a fantastic picture, keep it up!

Wonderful photo. I like the focus and the way the rest is blurred, yet adds colour and difference to the photo. Good choice also for not keeping the focus point in the middle but to the right, I like that as well.
