Description
Concept art I made for a DND-style character set in the Victorian era (1800's). She carries her father's gun, a breach-loading (currently depicted as break-action) hunting rifle that fires a Pauli-style of self-contained cartridge which she has modified with an axe head.

Adriana Kräje's father, Lord Kräje, though wealthy, was a drunk and a gambling addict, which got him in debt to a lot of people, including the spiteful and malicious Witch of the Knolls. The Witch, angry he hadn't paid off his debt in time, cursed his firstborn daughter so that she would be born a monster. Of course Lord Kräje didn't take her seriously, that is, until the day his wife gave birth to a child with a beak and feathers; Adriana. Disgusted at the half human abomination, Lord Kräje killed his wife in anger, claiming she had laid with a monster. Soaked with blood, Lord Kräje then turned to the helpless, crying infant, intent on ridding this world of such a disgusting being, when suddenly a cloaked figure swooped through the window, snatched Adriana, and flew away into the night.

Having saved the infant cursed by her sister, Morast, the Witch of the Swamp, would raise and protect Adriana, teaching her what she could about witchcraft, alchemy, and potionmaking, keeping her safe and cared for until she's old enough to survive on her own in a world cruel and unforgiving towards monsters like them. And some day, Adriana will get vengeance on her father.
