STORY TIME!
I'm a huge reader.
I started reading from a very young age, and by 7 I was reading Harry Potter level books.
During school, I got so bored with the baby books they gave me, I used to pretend to read them and fake a summary, this led the school to believe that I couldn't read, so they took me out of lessons for an hour a day to read to a TA.
When I was 9, I came into school with a copy of a book called the Wolf Princess (aimed at 12-14 year olds) and the teacher said it was too complicated for me and took it out of my hands during the reading period. After that I flipped the table, threw my chair, ran into the corridors and lay on the floor as a dead weight for the next hour. I was eventually lifted against my will into the headmaster's office and my mum came in to collect me, I had been informally excluded. My mum, the ever furious formidable force that she is, told the school I was always reading at home and was very bright for my age. She accused the school of refusing to meet my special needs and I got a free week off of school
