My second feather painting, featuring -Elephas maximus - The Asian elephant - [link] !
The feather is small, about 4 cm width and 24 cm length, I found it on street where a hooded crow [link] probably left it. The green feather as well was found on street and it belonged to a Rose-ringed Parakeet [link] which is invasive species in Israel.
2 hours, acrylics, hooded crow and Rose-ringed Parakeet feathers, green ribbon.

this is really creative, and beautiful too! even minus the unusual canvas, the elephant is very well drawn and realistic, and the ribbon really accentuates the aesthetics of the piece as a photo as well. gorgeous work!

There are very few birds around that would have suitably large feathers (4cm width is pretty large in my eyes) - but I'll remember I can try

Never seen this done before. I love it. It certainly made me wonder what it was in the thumb. You have great attention to detail and I love that you dressed it up a little with the green feather and ribbon on it too.
