Page 2 of 2 <<Last semester, Illustration dept. of my school approached me and asked if I'd like to make a couple of comics based on works of A.P. Chekhov. I sort of... had to agree, you know. This is the result.
...or maybe it's a story about how proper grammar can mess with your head. I'm not sure myself.
So this is the last page I did. Just so you know, this stuff ate at least a month out of Trivially True comics. I feel worse about it than you, trust me.

Holy crap, by the time people started to look like exclamation marks even I started to feel freaked out D:
The comic was amazing though. Whenever I scroll up I see more exclamation marks, on the dog, the ceiling, everywhere O_o

Thank you! Oh man, I don't want you to feel freaked out but I'm really glad the comic gives off this feeling. I always wanted to be able to make creepy things look creepy and fun things look fun.

And here I always thought Chekhov just wrote rather boring plays... who knew?
This really is deliciously weird. And fun. You can spend ages playing find-the-exclamation-marks! Heh, and I only just noticed after looking at this again how the exclamation mark is looming behind the poor guy in the last panel... Like it's still lurking, waiting to attack again...
"And then the exclamation mark vanished..."
"HA!! That's what you think!!!"

I used to think so too before this comic! XD
And thanks! I love hiding things in comics and I love it when people find them. Like something that was around all the time but nobody noticed.

I especially like the spots on the dog shaped like exclamation points. I seriously just stared at that big panel for like two minutes looking for all the hidden exclamations. XD

Funny thing is, nobody usually considers him to be surreal. Me and my classmates were really surprised when we started picking out short stories and it turned out he has a lot of stories that are veeery different from the stuff in school reading programs. What a sneaky guy with his Chekhov's gun, hah.

dude i ADORE this! what i love is how much i can see that you really cae about making a very nice, finish, detailed, and impressive comic. just the joy of reading these 2 pages and finding all the xclamation marks in the background, you really feel the urgency and the anxiety of the old man. and just to sound repetitive: the colors are amazing!!!
