Description I modded my Polaroid one step that takes SX-70 film to accept a 600 cartridge and to compensate for the 2 stops of exposure difference between the films I taped (yeah, I know) a Old Warming filter (vernon A 38)that came with my Super I camera to the lense. it fit perfect!

the warm filter works really nicely, I have just a neutral density filter gel taped onto my sx-70 lens

the marks on the left side are most likely caused by the rollers. the chemicals sometimes squeeze out the top of the polaroid, and dry up on the rollers. rotate and clean them

if I had an ND filter I probably would have slapped it on there but the only thing I had laying around was a warm filter for a super 8 camera

and thanks for explaining that. I wasn't quite sure what it was I'd never had that happen on any of my other cameras and the plastic is sort of...indented so I figured maybe there was something in the little film compartment pushing on it, but I guess it is the rollers after all!

LOL
ROTFLOL!

Are those marks on the left side from when you opened the camera to unjam it?

OmahaNebraska In reply to Artificient [2008-04-23 04:53:25 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea what they are from, but they showed up one very film, even the ones that didn't expose

I am guessing that there is some sort of screw mechanism or something in the cartridge slot that is crunching up against the film.

Intresting, it looks like it could be some sort of light leak I think.

well, if you could touch the film it'd be easier to explain like it is actually dented in, so i'm guessing the dye just couldn't squeeze past it when it was rolled out because the plastic was smashed into the backing.

Hmm, I see & you say this is a home made pin hole camera? I think you should take referance picks of it, like diagrams. This sounds very intresting & I want to see this.
I have been wanting to make a pinhole camera for ages, I just don't have the developing equiptment. But if I can do it with polaroid, that changes things. I am not skrappng my old Spirit 600, but maybe the Polaroid one 600 Ultra that I bought a couple months ago. Maybe, if I can put it back together when I'm done.

I think I have lost you bud.

This isn't a pinhole, it's just a regular polaroid camera.

It's this one --> [link]

it usually takes SX-70 film but I covered the little metal springs and jammed a pack of 600 hundred in it. The 600 is about 2 stops faster so it gets overexposed so I taped an old yellow filter for my super 8 cam on to it to try and block out some of the extra light and get a proper exposure.

as for pinholes, I suggest this: [link]

(sorry if the link gets broken if so go to ebay and type in "pinhole kit" in the cameras section and look for one that is about 25 GBP

it will give you a beer can pinhole, developer, trays and a safe light. This is what I made my first pinholes on and develped them in, the guy that sells it is really respected and he's a fast shipper

you could also try a "smiley cam' which is sold by the same guy on ebay...it's just a 110 film cartridge with a little metal pinhole cover and you can take it to the lab and get it developed

haha, I know. I'm in love with this camera. I paid like a dollar or something for it at a flea market a few summers ago and always thought it was broken but it turns out the film packs were just dead because I slapped the 600 in there and now its fine. I love how light it makes things, it's not as deep as a regular 600 cam.
