BavacodaGardens
Bavacodas are a species of goo based, slug humanoid creatures. Due to their short stature, they are often seen as youthful. They do leave slime trails with their tails but only when they're feeling incredibly emotional.
The tallest Bavacoda ever recorded was at a height of 4 feet and 2 inches full grown. The longest tail, from base to tip, was recorded at 7 feet and 3 inches long.
The species comes in almost all colors and patterns - but no two are the same - twins are an incredibly rare mutation. So far, there haven't been any recorded twins, triplets, etc. in the Bavacoda species. Patterns on their bodies so long as it covers less than 85% CAN be dark - most have a lighter skin tone but dark patterns are not uncommon at all!
Like most humans and humanoids they are full of personality and enjoy a wide variety of hobbies much like we do! Also unlike, humanoid species, they do not have internal organs of any kind and rarely, skeletons. Those born with skeletons typically have firmer bodies. Most of their energy and sustenance is absorbed. They are very similar to single-celled organisms in this manner. Once they absorb their chosen food (can be from any part of their body), the food is broken down and dissolved.
Gender: Every Bavacoda is born intersexed, much like real slugs / snails. They can choose a preferred gender and are able to alter their form just enough to mimic their choice in gender. This process takes time and great effort, so they can't easily swap between.
Breeding: Bavacoda's lay gooey eggs, however the eggs will not survive long outside of their gelatin bodies. Their tails are used as incubators. No matter the gender, any Bavacoda can have eggs. Fertilized eggs remain in the base of their tail until they are ready to hatch – at which point the Bavacoda's will lay a clutch, from which babies are hatched. A clutch of eggs usually varies between 1-6 eggs. Each egg is about the size of a coconut. Larger clutches of eggs are rarer due to the small stature / size of the Bavacoda's tail.
Eye Types:
Bavacoda's have a wide range of eye types that they can have! If they have an iris it can be any shape or any color! Commonly, the sclera of their eyes is a shade lighter than their main skin tone. Rarely they can be born with more or less eyes or even have an eye that lacks an iris and is all one color!
✖ Common - Two eyes
✖ Common - Sclera lighter than main skin tone
✖ Uncommon - Three Eyes
✖ Uncommon - Dark colored scelra (darker than skin tone)
✖ Rare - One Eye
✖ Rare - Two-Toned Sclera or multi-colored (colors must be in skin tones as well)
✖ Mythic - Four Eyes (or more!)
✖ Mythic - Lacks an iris, whole eye is one solid color
Horns & Antennae:
Almost all Bavacoda's have either horns or antennae. Those with softer option (antennae) usually have a harder time hiding their emotions! Horns are firmer than typical bodies but often are still soft enough to bend, but cannot be held long out of their typical shape. Rarely (those with more than two) can have a set of horns and antennae but this is very, very rare.
✖ Common - Two horns or Antennae
✖ Uncommon - One horn
✖ Rare - Four horns or antennae, VERY rarely can have a set of both
✖ Mythic - No horns, absence of any antennae on the head
Body Types:
This applies to the type of body a Bavacoda has. Usually they are made of goo but are not particularly wet. Like snails and slugs they will leave a trail of slime in their wake but they are not a soft consistency, if you touch one you won't sink into it for instance. Liquid filled bodies are usually firmer to hold them together.
✖ Common - Goo
✖ Uncommon - Firm
✖ Rare - Liquid Filled
✖ Mythic - Skeleton Inside
Tail Types:
All Bavacoda's have a tail! There has never been a recording of one without. They can very in length but typically have tails between three to five feet long and thick like a slug. Tail thickness must be at least the width of their body/midsection. All tail types can have extras on them, things like frills (think sea slugs!), fans, fins... Aquatic-tailed Bavacoda's are the ONLY type that have fins on the ends of their tails but it isn't rare to see some with them near the base. Even snail tails have been seen sporting frills. Unlike the other tail types, snail-tailed Bavacoda's cannot uncurl their tails at all.
✖ Common - Slug 3' to 5' in length
✖ Uncommon - Stub 1' to 2' in length
✖ Rare - Aquatic 4' to 7' in length and always have a fin on the end, can sometimes have extras
✖ Mythic - Snail 6' to 7' in length are never flexible and cannot change form or shape
✖ Mythic - Extended 6' to 7' in length are always flexible
Quick Facts
✖ No taller than 4 feet, can be shorter.
✖ Don't physically age past 30.
✖ Made of thick, gelatinous goo.
✖ Giant slug like tails often make up about half of their body starting at the small of their back.
✖ 2 Gooey, flexible horns are most common.
✖ While their hands are defined well, their feet are not.
✖ Patterns are like fingerprints, no two are the same. (Twins are extremely rare.)
✖ Bavacodas rarely have traditional hair (human like hair is a mutation). Everything on their body is made of goo so their hair looks more like globs or thick dreads.
✖ Not fast runners due to the weight of their tail.
✖ Their tails work much like a Kangaroo's would, allowing them to support themselves on it for brief periods of time, if length permits.
✖ All tails are fat and rounded, never pointed, and due to the weight of them are too heavy to lift easily.
✖ Bavacodas can absorb food from any part of their body, however most will eat through their mouth for it is considered 'polite'.
✖ As Bavacoda's can range from both gel to rather sticky, some Bava's may find they attract certain items that get stuck in their goo, or in their bodies. A few of them like to roll with this and adopt a 'theme' all their own.
Mutations / Rarities
✖ Gooey Tentacles / Horns on area's other than their heads.
✖ Solidified stones / gems / scales.
✖ Glowing markings.
✖ Twins (matching markings).
✖ Human like hair or fur.
✖ Wings.
✖ Additional limbs.
