There's a story behind this.

They say you have the best ideas in the shower. I tend to think of the strangest ideas. I took a shower one morning and I had the "Do It For Him/Her" song from SU where Pearl was training Connie to swordfight and I was thinking about WoY at the same time. Inevitably, the two of them happened to crossover in the weirdest way.

In an AU where Wander and Lord Hater are at least allies, Wander realizes that Sylvia has been saving him from trouble more and more often, always having to protect him from danger. He starts to feel a bit guilty and wants to learn to fight to protect himself so she doesn't have to worry about him anymore. At first, Wander turns to Sylvia to train him in combat, but she insists that he doesn't NEED to become stronger for her and that he's fine just the way he is.

Since Sylvia won't help, Wander turns to Commander Peepers for training. At first, he is unsure, but he sees the determination in his eyes and his newfound passion to fight for Sylvia touches his heart. Peepers felt the same way for Lord Hater, always by his side, making Hater one of his main priorities; he could relate to Wander for the first time since they've met. He agrees to train him in combat and instead of laser guns, they're training with swords (because Peepers is secretly obsessed with old fashioned weapons like those idk)

I always liked the idea of Peepers sort of idolizing Hater in the same way that Pearl idolized Rose, so I crossed over the song with the show and it turned out better than I expected.

Just imagine the entire song with Wander as Connie, Peepers as Pearl, and the pronouns being switched.
