impulsive, rash, headstrong and thoroughly annoying because of it, Slade tends to carry herself with an air of smugness that really doesn't match her actual personality. consumed by the fact he is a rarity and is almost constantly treated with knit gloves on her prior ranch, it was a bit of a rude awakening for her upon relocating to Candle Cove.
hard headed to the point where she will always refuse help even if she's in a situation that calls for it. she is also not the type to apologize or thank anyone. if anything, she hides the frustration she feels for not being able to take care of himself
she is way more in love with herself and her reputation, it didn't seem like she would find anyone that he could lower her rebellious and arrogant defenses to see the goofy idiot behind it.
in trying to help out with moving items from one shed to another thanks to a sudden and rather destructive summer rainstorm, he picked up a gender stone without realizing it. once he knew what it was, for just a fleeting moment he visualized himself as a female. this was all it took to change his outward appearance and make him a girl.
at first he wasn't entirely sure what to do with himself, but slowly he started attracting the attention of quite a few 'mons on the ranch; even other females couldn't help doing a double take.

he's the fairest one of all anyway; who WOULDN'T be attracted?
being female and showered with attention, gifts, and anything else he wanted, he started to really enjoy wrapping others around his little finger.
as a side note: every week I did a breeding to try and get a babe, he was always bred with Felicity because simple, and while she's a manipulative queen bee in her own right, she never really had a problem with Slade until he gender swapped. never the type to feel truly threatened, she simply gave the gallade the cold shoulder and gathered up her owm many followers still unmistakably loyal.
thing is, even though he was unintentionally pissing off his friend, Slade started to become attracted to the raichu, especially when she actively shoved him away. this really only served to make him even more interested in her because men think the chase is better than the catch blahblahblah
Felicity, being fluid sexual, doesn't really discount a relationship with another girl, but in no way was she ever going to give Slade the time of day. once he stepped off of her toes, he noticed she had an easier time talking to him as a female. though he never said it, this is probably the most likely reason he chose to remain female; the two of them clicked a lot better once they started to see things eye to eye.
Felicity still has not accepted her as a mate or even outright admits to them being friends. << yandere little thing.

and that kinda...blew my mind. in seeking to breed for one, I already had the personality and all that planned out for a female and I loved the irony of Felicity and Slade being a thing since apparently all they did was breed << and breed, and breed jfds it's casual!
forgive me for writing a novel uxu I am simply really fond of this character and for the first time since I had a falling out with a friend of mine, I actually like the direction Felicity is going in.
I apologize for nothing!
...except for how disjointed my writing is; I'm really friggin' tired. x.x; s2g when I reread this tomorrow, I will be horrified at how terrible it all sounds but right at the moment, I sweepy.
