For my story, Malaka...

It's a 2nd generation suit that connects to the pilot directly through various spinal surface contacts (no plugs) and around the front too, hence the semi-organic look to the front, okay, they look like straps but could still be organic It's a sniper unit with a generator on its back sticking out to one side, but I gave it a melee weapon to give the other hand something to hold on to... and um,.... I still spent too much time on it... around 1.5-2 hours on it, too wishy washy but the effect came out rather nicely.

C&C would be great, oh, and the legs of the pilot goes into the thigh of the suit, movement of the legs are directed through the neurocontacts.
