Currently reading and rereading an awesome fic from the Naruto fandom called The Lives Worth Saving by cywsaphyre (original author) and NikkiCross (adopted author) . Summary as written by NikkiCross: “Summary: Adopted Fic. Uzumaki Naruto, 26 years old and undoubtedly one of the few remaining shinobi still alive after 10 long years of war, lay dying in the midst of a bloody battlefield. With Konoha gone and no one left to live for, he sends himself back to the beginning, to the day of his younger self’s graduation from the academy, in one final attempt to set things right. With the help of family new and old, Naruto learns there is more to it than just lives worth saving. Time travel AU. Top: A doodle of Zabuza and Haku since they will show up sooner or later in the story, presumably. To the right is Shikaku, Inoichi, and Choza. Last is a doodle of sad eyes.
Middle: Quick - really quick - doodle of Choji, trying to figure out his hair. Haruki clothing practice, without the jacket. To the right is a “what-if Haruki had magic” in the sense of a high priest/priestess of Inari (who I am lead to believe is associated with foxes?). To the right is my signature and the date, below which is another “what-if deaged Haruki” doodle, this time being very excited and with extreme bed-head. To the right, Haruki as a top-less cowboy because I wanted to practice drawing hats and anatomy, but didn’t think through the pose. To the right, another “what-if magic Haruki” doodle but this time he is very angry and has magic in his hand and glowing eyes.
Bottom: Shikamaru being upset and aggravated at something (presumably on Haruki’s behalf), and Shikaku is laughing at him in the background. Shikamaru gets even more aggravated once he realizes his dad is RIGHT THERE and hasn’t done anything to fix the situation.
