hello~!this is request by me xD
anyways i've been having an artblock on drawing switch-tan and friends so i decided to do a warm up sketch, so i ended up drawing Samus Aran from metroid.
since i was doing research on tumblr (mostly clothes for my OC), i heard from matsu-sensei's work "super smoosh samus" that people getting butthurt over samus new look and i read couple more articles more likely rants on tumblr people getting worked up on her yellow heels and something about her being too sexual.
LOL, this always makes me laugh whenever i see people getting worked up over something stupid, so i ended up drawing her.
also i would like to say i kind like her with new shoes

Awesome. ^^ very cute.
The problem is she used to be depicted as a strong female bounty hunter, a role usually left to a male lead. Now she is being increasingly depicted as feminine and sexual. It's a backwards step in her character development as far as many gender equality are concerned. I don't mind sexualized characters, but I don't like it when they do it to established characters.
also, I kinda like the shoes too... but wish they were yellow. ^^

I don't really have a problem with the shoes.. it's more about how she is moving and how the character was depicted as love sick in Other M. It's one thing to have a sexual character like, Ivy Valentine in Soul Calibur, but when you sexualize the character just to increase sales... (or try), it's fairly demeaning to the character.
"Your not selling well enough. Put some pumps on and wiggle what your mama gave ya." I think sums it up.
But we can agree to disagree. ^^ everyone is entitled to an opinion.
Also I meant "weren't yellow" Yellow isn't my fav color and I think they draw too much attention to the shoes.
