Description Finished the hickory Mollegabet with flipped tips.  Rawhide backing, about 60# at 30" draw.  I keep making bows for tall people.

WOW I love this bow, Freaking gorgeous! I'm in awe, what technique did you use for the recurve? The handle is so nice, how does it shoot? (the tips look a little heavy)

Thank you!  For this one, I glued on additional pieces of hickory to the back of the static limbs with Titebond III, and shaped them from there.  With other designs where the limb is bending all the way down to the tips, that kind of strategy wouldn't work, but with the static limbs on the Mollegabet designs, it spares the risk of breaking while trying to heat-bend the recurved tips.  It shoots pretty nicely - more and more, I like the z-shaped handle design (though it definitely only works for stiff handles), because it brings the string closer to that center-line.  The tips may be a little heavy, but not too bad.  It still had plenty of zip to it.  My first Mollegabets had *really* heavy tips, so I'm slowly working toward thinner ones as I deal with my fear of breaking.

Okay that makes sense, I love the blackened effect you added. My friend's Mollegabets board bow made me fall in love with self bows, so much fun to shoot.
