Description
Peony maybe the most beloved flower in my culture,at least one of those flowers. The English name "Peony"Include two different species, one is "牡丹"(Paeonia × suffruticosa Andr.), the other one is "芍药"(Paeonia lactiflora Pall.). Their flower looks almost the same, but only 牡丹 have woody stems. That's why they are not distinguished in English. But as they are so important in our culture, we won't confuse them. Here we say"牡丹"is the king of flowers, "芍药"is the prime minister .
