Description
“…..And her opponent, weighing 185 lbs….. making her Maximum Glory debut…..welcome Allison Steele…” The ring announcer barely had to raise his voice.
To say the least the ovation we modest at best. A newcomer with no fans within the audience. They knew nothing about her and fully expected the former champion to go through her on her way back to the top. Why should there be anything more than a smattering of applause. In fact, on her way to the ring Allison was sure she saw one or two thumbs down from the closer fans. She couldn’t be sure though. Her focus was elsewhere... on her opponent in the ring. Exactly where it should be.
She climbed through the ropes and her nerves only grew a little. It wasn’t the fight it was the stage. She wasn’t sure what she expected in terms of the spectators, but when she saw them, the gravity of what she was doing got to her some. It was outside her comfort zone just a bit.
Leanna Calhoun we exactly the grizzled veteran Allison knew she would be. Big and solid, with a wily and confident look on her face. This woman had seen the wars and had headlined cards and the situation had no effect on her. She was not going to lay down for some newcomer.
Her job was to squash the light out of the dreams of the upstart.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I dont know of any fight in the history of fighting that starts with the combatants standing in this postition. I just did this one early on to get a sense for the lighting and how they measured up. That is whey this image doesn't match the write up perfectly.
