Poppy is a fairly reserved young mare. She doesn't share her thoughts or feelings easily and this often makes it difficult for her to meet new equines. She doesn't enjoy being alone all the time, but finds it easier than opening up to others. As a result of her subpar communication skills, Poppy typically assumes that others will ignore her or grow bored of her quickly. This has left her will a rather bleak view of her future, and leads her to make negative assumptions about strangers. While Poppy isn't particularly warm to other equines, she does have empathy for them and generally tries to treat others with kindness.

History
Poppy's past isn't terribly eventful. Growing up she was easily discouraged by any negative feedback from her parents and peers. She wasn't persecuted by any means, but she took rejection or scolding harder than most would. This lead her to withdraw in an effort to avoid drawing attention at all, be it positive or negative. This strategy worked a bit too well and Poppy failed to make any meaningful connections or relationships with her herd. When she came of age it made it easy to leave, however now Poppy faces a world of strangers with very few of the skills needed to forge new friendships. As a result she currently wanders as a loner, though she finds this lifestyle more and more unsatisfying as time goes on.
