Here's an accompanying short story:
Brenda strained at the shackles holding her in place. No use, she muttered bitterly to herself. The belts were far too secure, not to mention that weird metal device currently attached to her head. It was almost like being in an electric chair, and she half-expected to be electrocuted any time.

After what felt like hours, she heard click-clacking as something approached. She looked around nervously at the empty chamber. Then suddenly something thrust its head at her. She let out a terrified scream, her eyes wide in horror as the monster opened its mouth to reveal rows of jagged teeth. It seemed to be… grinning at her. Brenda felt her heart almost beat out of her chest as the thing caressed her face with a hideous finger, brushing aside her hair. As she watched, the monster began phasing out of existence, almost like it was turning into dust. The hand still on her face then forced her mouth open, and she realised too late what it was trying to do. Coughing and gagging, Brenda fought against the cloud of greenish smoke encircling her head. The cloud pushed its way into her mouth, and she panicked, yelling curses and trying even more desperately to break out of the bindings. Her thrashing soon died down as she felt her consciousness fade, and darkness overtook her mind.
