This happens t be one of the better illustration of Harry that I've seen.
Although...
If I were drawing him, I'd place the scar a little lower and to the left on his forehead.
That's just the way I'd do it.

i like to draw the scar the way they say it is in the books, on the center of his forehead. it just seems right. it always looks weird when i do it off to the side. i think that the only reason they have the scar on the side of his forehead in the movies, is so that when he touches the scar, his hand doesnt awkwardly cover his face.

But when I think about, when that scar begins to flare up in pain, wouldn't cause his vision go all screwy?

I take it you've never had a migraine, then?
Trust me, that amount of pain, in or on his skull, will blur his vision pretty badly.
And I should know.
When I get a migraine, my visuals get very hazy and wavy.
