Description Combining two of my loves, A Song of Ice and Fire and Eyvind Earle. This is Highgarden, home of House Tyrell, comfortably ensconced in the heart of the Reach, land of fair maids and chivalrous knights and general plenty.

Earle's style was always very influenced by medieval art (also Japanese art), most people might recognize him as the head artist on Disney's Sleeping Beauty [link] . So I thought it would be appropriate because, seriously, if any castle in Westeros could be found in a Disney movie it would be Highgarden.

i noticed the style right away. I've watched the making of sleeping beauty so many times... and I Completely agree with you, highgarden would absolutely be the disney castle

"A land of fair maids, chivalrous knights and general plenty"

In other words, the only place in the whole of Wetseros I'd willingly want to live in.

Cool concept! Never would have thought of Eyvind Earle and ASOIF together, but it works wonderfully!

Thank you! I always liked Earle's design for Sleeping Beauty so I like him for medieval-inspired settings I suppose.

Thank you! I wish it was my own style, but then again copying can lead to something new eventually.

That's very flattering! But I am sure I probably had Ted Nasmith's Highgarden in the back of my mind somewhere [link]

No one creates in a vacuum. Ted's is obviously stunning, but yours feels like how I imagined the place.

It's cool to see such a stylized illustration from ASoIaF, I love it!

Honestly when I first got the itch to do fanart for this series, it was always to do pretty stylized things (particularly like Aubrey Beardsley). Most ASOIAF fanart is more realistic so my mental images have kind of shifted, but part of me still thinks in that way about it, I guess.

Yeah, its a beautiful movie. The heroine doesn't do much but the animation and design is sublime, to me the most stylish Disney animation.
