Quick old doodle of my favorite Kalosian gym leader, partly because I’ve sort of had an obsession with Faerie-types being one of the most dangerous subtypes of Pokemon due to their pishogue, glamor and general penchant for vindictive mindfuckery, and she’s absolutely no exception.
My personal headcanon says that she isn’t what she seems and may be a changeling, and that her gym ie. the 'dollhouse' originally started out as a home for runaway and battered women (much like the one who raised her) whom she helped to heal mentally and emotionally. The clothes and all the finery she could afford them were to nurture their self-worth and make them feel beautiful to the world again, and some stayed behind to serve as the gym/shelter’s guardians.
Kalosians speak of her in fear, awe and reverence, and women often use her badge (it seems to be designed with wings in mind, ie. hope/flight for broken birds) as a symbol of protection and/or empowerment.
She’s petty, vain and capricious as hell but also protective, nurturing and insightful.
