I don't doubt that Key will eventually become a vampire, but storyline wise he hasn't yet made that decision. He's only in his early twenties so I figure he won't start to really think about it till maybe his late twenties or early thirties?
Of course his husband died at seventeen so hopefully Key ages gracefully.
