Fantastic!

So are those lines and circles going to join up to form a larger piece with all the Doctors?

Thank you!

Do you know, I toyed with that idea - and perhaps I should have done it - but I decided that would be too constraining on further portraits. So they'll just be random patterns.

Yes, probably a lot easier to do with digital pieces!

Great job, as always. I especially like his hair on this one.

Thanks, my friend - his hair was fairly easy to draw. He doesn't have as much as most of the other Docs!

Rachel-17 In reply to ONTV [2009-01-10 21:25:04 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome.

True, he doesn't. The Doctor usually always seems to have a lot of hair on his head, doesn't he?

ONTV In reply to Rachel-17 [2009-01-10 21:38:59 +0000 UTC]

I'm pretty sure Peter Davison was ordered to grow his hair when he took the part, rather against his wishes if I remember correctly - it's good to see the newest Doctor has lots of hair!

Rachel-17 In reply to ONTV [2009-01-10 23:07:38 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I never knew that. But what would the Doctor be without his full head of hair?

And who is the latest Doctor, since you mention it? I kinda lost track after David Tennant I'm afraid.

ONTV In reply to Rachel-17 [2009-01-11 09:14:49 +0000 UTC]

The new Doctor is 26 year old actor Matt Smith. I'll be honest, I haven't seen him in anything - but I hadn't seen Tennant in anything before he became the Doc either. I think it is always good to cast someone virtually unknown - there are no preconceptions about how he'll be.

He won't be seen onscreen for another year yet - but he's already had a lot of flak for being too young. 'How DARE he be only 26?'

For my money, from his interview and appearance, he'll be splendid, really good. He looks a little like David Bowie from the cover of his 'Young Americans' album.

And believe me, I'll be trying to draw him soon enough!

Rachel-17 In reply to ONTV [2009-01-11 20:39:45 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm. Well, it'll certainly be interesting having a Doctor that young-- something of a change of pace, at any rate. And looking at Matt Smith, he is a little like a young David Bowie, isn't he? We'll have to see how he does at the role.

You're probably right about casting an "unknown," or someone virtually unknown. Otherwise there could be certain preconceptions about how the character will be, like you say.

Heh heh, I'm sure you will. And good luck with that.

ONTV In reply to Rachel-17 [2009-01-17 12:41:29 +0000 UTC]

Yep - that's all we can do: wait and see what he's like. He's got many positive reviews in other roles, and he's being written by Stephen Moffat, so I honestly don't see how he could fai;!
