Description Another project from The Alchemist...

This time we were forced to paint a giant page of random black and white markings on a piece of paper and trim out some compositions from it. Then, use those as a basis for a final image. This is what I've done with it.

I think the spirals are a bit overkill. I'll fiddle with it again later. But for now, it's done.

Probably about... 8 to 10 hours of work-ish, counting at least some distractions.

I think I found the technique for coming up with this painting incredibly inspiring! It seems like something for thinking outside the box and try something different. I MUST TRY THIS!

i LOVE your rocks btw

Yup, that's pretty much the point. Making you do stuff you otherwise wouldn't. it's fun too -- I mean, you get to make a huge mess!

XD Man, the classes you take really work your art muscles don't they? I'm envious!

I've been browsing your digital art and your backgrounds are awesome. I'd love to try this black and white-compositions technique. It seems to work.

And after you've gone through it all, it seems so obvious, haha. It's definitely fun though, and does help make things more lively.

Thank you. Dunno if you managed to stumble across the full write up I did (which I think I'm gonna go edit in to the description now) but I have the starting blob & in progress ones here: [link]

Only problem is you've kind of cheated in a sense and seen the result.
