It's kinda designed as the air counterpart of submarimon.
And yes, theoretically you are able to ride inside it like Cody did in digimon adventure.

Actually the Xros Digivolution is supposed to be more like a perfect/ultimate-like form of the rookie. [link] Unless there's something about X2s being acceptable that I missed? If so, please ignore the rest of this paragraph. X2 and Chou Shinka's are different, like how OmegaShoutmon is different from ShoutmonX(insert number here.) Sorry about being a busybody.
Art-wise both digimon look great. I really like the style, nicely detailed and expresses different textures fairly well. The texture comment shows especially well on TeruX2 with the cotton-y trim of his jacket. And how the lines of his new red coat match the wisp-like nature of a flame.

No you are totally right!
I only changed to Xros since there was an unbalanced amount of members between the classic and the xros section, but didn't watch very much of the new season. Guess that kicks me in the back now.
