Description
It took me many months to make. I first placed my hands in a elaborately prepared plaster pour (being careful not to burn myself). After I freed my hands I poured clay slip into the plaster molds of my hands and then separated the clay slip from the mold. I then had the correct hand positions to fit inside the knitted gloves. I poured layer after layer of automotive paint (oil base) on the gloves and inside too. And, after that I wrapped the base and painted hands in string.

The idea was suppose to be that the fabric hands were knitting. At the time my friend was reclaiming quality thread from old clothes that no one wanted, and was making them into amazing sweaters, toques, arm gloves, socks, etc. Anyways, he would set up a table and sell some of his items at craft fairs from time to time, and I made this three dimensional logo for him.
