The hand that is controlling the speed of the gas release is hard to make out and looks rather... odd. It is hard to tell if he has paws or hands with no visible thumb.
I think you could have made a better distinction at the bottom of your belly to show how the dress hung down from the large sphere. It just looks odd to me.
That being said, the rest is impressive. The idea is a good one. 
The faces are believable and I like the shoes.
