The trick to using it is to duplicate the layer then cut out everything Except the windows. Set the windows On Top as an Overlay or Multiply layer to make the View you set behind it look like it's being seen through cracked glass.

Ahaha, i didn't mean this. i know how to do such things. I'm confused about what is this grey thing in there? A forest? A stained-glass window?

The gray is just a texture.
-- If you look at the completed image --> [link] near the top, you can see how I used it to make the glass looked cracked.
