Heidi had lived a long, long time. She had outlived her husband; tragically, she had even outlived her child. She was old. She looked old, she felt old. However, she wasn't just anyone. No, she was a Master-grade alchemist, and she had been working for the past 12 years on a serum to restore her youth. She had spent countless hours and countless sums of money researching and procuring rare ingredients, materials, and tools. But at long last, the serum was ready.

She took a long look at the thick, bubbling mixture. It was as perfect as she could make it, and it was as tested as it could be without actually having a human drink it. And with the cost, she couldn't afford to have 2 doses. Holding her nose, she choked down the thick, horrible liquid.

Nothing. She waited 5 minutes. Nothing. She waited an hour. Nothing. There were no changes at all. She panicked, drew blood samples, tested what she could, but everything showed negative, like she had just drank water. She almost cried herself to sleep.

However, unknown to her, in the middle of the night, a miracle happened. The serum finally activated. Her skin became younger and her wrinkles faded. Her hair regained its color. Strength returned to her limbs. Oddly, her chest actually enlarged, which was not something she had intended.

When she awoke, the first thing she noticed was that her glasses didn't work. But then she realized that she could see better without them on. Then she looked over the rest of her body, and she literally jumped for joy.

She spent the entire day cleaning. Which might seem a strange choice to celebrate her return to youth, but it was more than just cleaning. She was able to bend down and pick things up, or sweep for long periods of time without getting tired, or any of the thousand tiny things which became a lot more irritating as she had gotten older. But now none of that was a problem, and she rejoiced in being able to do the simple things in life.

It was when she was carrying two barrels full of rainwater, one under each arm, that she noticed that she wasn't just getting younger. She was getting taller, stronger. She flexed her arm, and a sizeable bicep appeared. She touched her stomach only to feel the cobblestone abs. And she was at least 6 inches taller than she was this morning. It was like a dream.

9 hours later, everything felt like a nightmare. She hadn't stopped. She was still getting taller, still getting stronger, still getting curvier. The people in the village ran screaming at the sight of her, and she couldn't blame them. After all, she had crushed an entire horse drawn wagon underfoot, including the horse, and her powerful muscles had barely even noticed. Worse still, the last time she had seen her reflection she looked to be only about 15 or 16.

The only consolation she could see was that her getting younger seemed to be slowing down, but it also seemed like her body was increasing in size and strength to compensate. Heidi stumbled and smashed her way through the village to try and get to the outskirts before she grew even bigger and caused even more damage than she already was. As she haphazardly made her way, the only question she had was 'when will it end?' "
