awh thank you very much for your kind comment! means a lot to me :3
...if i wouldnt have used real stuff, this piece would never be the same. at least not for me. it would be...cheap i think, cause
it wouldn't include any real death... it's either way a quite simple work actually and is just working because
i've used real dead things i think.

oh clay...PURE MESS. bone sculpture? can't imagine something right now...can you explain :3? and how do you want to compine it?
i love to work with clay :3 haven't done it for ages too, the last time at home and this was actually fun, but the fun was destroyed when i had to clean up everything after working for a week or so -.-
the only thing i wonder about is how one can do HUGE sculptures. the clay is somehow too heavy and soft for making something big that remains in its shape.

Well, our teacher wanted to introduce us in basic sculpting, so she brought a bone (I'm not sure which type it is, but it looks like an animal femur or thighbone). It has some very interesting shapes and volumes. In fact, it looks like it was made of rubber and somebody twisted it. We must create a replica of that bone, which we'll actually cover with plaster later, to make a countermold and then fill it with cement to create a final piece (maybe, that's how artists also create huge sculptures. I'm not sure if clay is useful for big pieces, because of the whole baking process to make it hard. I don't think there are such big ovens for that...)
But yes, clay is pure mess indeed. The real problem isn't the wet clay you use for work, but the dry little pieces they remain left. If you don't clean them perfectly, they'll turn into that white dust that stains all your clothes. At college, we work at a little workshop, and it's always a mess. All chairs are covered with that white dust I mentioned. And I keep forgetting I should not bring dark clothes to sculpture classes Dx
I'm not sure how to combine them yet, but I was thinking about painting a background on a frame and then sculpt some creature and add it to the painting, like you did with the skull. Another option was to paint a figure, and then use clay or any similar material to 'highlight' some body parts, like a wing or an arm or even a tree branch. I don't know, I will improvise ^^

sounds like a pretty cool task to me :3
and the idea with the cement is cool too...so you have something that doesn't break that easily like clay would do (even if it's baked).
and yes...you are right. but even making a big sculpture for taking a mold of it later seems quite difficult to me.
i made a mold out of plaster, means i put plaster and gauze over the unbaked clay. unfortunately i didnt manage to take off the plastermold and had to wash out the clay xD
i always was wearing a 1000km too long apron/shirt when i entered the room to avoid dusty stains everywhere (sometimes it rly helped xD)
your idea sounds good :3 you gotta show it to me when you really did it!
