ok im not one to speak because i know in one year i'm going to absolutely hate this one too (hi, 2018 opal!) but there's an OBVIOUS improvement jump inbetween 2016 and 2017???? woah what the hell happened. alright here's the yearly overview:

2014- IM SO SORRY THIS EXISTS I ACTUALLY CRY WHENEVER I SEE THIS THING OH MY GOD, ,,,, i think i drew it with a mouse??? i was so proud of it??? that quOTE IS SO EDGY WHAT THE HELLL WHY IS EVERYTHING A SOLID BLOCK OF NEON COLOR IM JUST,, , IM SORRY

2015- why he face so little im crying, ,,, also the blood looks like strawberry jam. past opal blood doesnt look like that also please stop being edgy,,,,, hey u should look up anatomy too

2016- ur. getting there. good try past opal? i mean i did give up the edgy finally but jfc hes not a cute young cat he's literally like,,, a ruthless, cold, battle-hardened leader i think i tried to make him too 'cute' for some reason lmao,,, also please look up shading please opal this not good no no please the shading is all over the place. ALSO WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THE EAR OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT ITS WORSE THAN THE 2015 EAR

2017 (current)- i dont have much else to say here really except that i learned that scourge is dark black, not gray, i tried to make his collar reddish-purple instead of pale purple, i tried to go for a realistic look w/ a fur-ish texture, and really detail the eyes instead of doing a solid color, low-opacity black, and call it a day. also whISKERS LOOK GOOD they make them actually look like cats
