Description Next step of the travel into the past.

The 500 pageviews special bring us into the Silurian period, 415 millions years ago.
Tropical reefs are common at this period and several type of coral cover the sea ground. We can meet the terror of the silurian period, a giant
sea scorpion named Pterygotus with his impressive size of 2,3 m long (7 feet). Two Orthoceras are escaping. Thoses ancient nautiloids, fish eater, were also able to reach a big size, from severals cm to 1,8 meter (6 feet) long. We can also see a group of jawless fish, Thelodus, in the background. Jawless fish are now very diverses and several have a body cover with plates.
Some of the last Trilobites are moving on the primitive sea's ground.
At the end of the Silurian period, 60% of marine species disapeared.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the disappearance of 60% of marine life occurred at the end of the Ordovician if I am not mistaken.

I love this era and this is a great rendition. Shame there aren't any Cameroceras-sized orthocones or Brontoscorpio-esque aquatic scorpions, but very nice work on the eurypterid, orthocones and crinoids in particular.

Holy crap! If I could do something like that with a mouse.... no, correction, if I could do something like that even with a TABLET... I'd probably be like "Holy crap, I'm awesome!" and that probably wont be for years... You've got some mad skills there.

Holy cow woman, you did this with a mouse?!? This is phenominal, all the colors and details they are amazing!
I love these old sea creatures, they are so alien but yet so familar, and some things still look like that way down there in the deep waters. I find that to be so cool!

C'est marrant d'utiliser la forme d'un scorpion pour un Leviathan. J'avais complètement oublié cette "bestiole". Merci pour le lien.
