Description
The darkness swept the Ancient Unicorn lands.Shadows of flame breathing beasts blanketed the once regal city.
The cries and screams of Ancient Unicorn fathers, mothers,
sons and daughters echoed off the mountains and into the abyss of the outside lands.
A Young mother and her new son scattered across the desert away from the lapping flames, never looking back. Mother urged her son not to look as they found refuge behind a large boulder as soon as they were able to breathe outside of the dragons smokey reign.
As they hid and shuddered, Mother held back her tears as she enveloped her son in her bruised and tired hooves. The young colt cried quietly as the sounds of the flames overcame the cries of their families, until all there was left was silence and the growls of the creatures who took from them their lives and home.
Artwork took 4 hours, was done digitally via Wacom tablet.

I'm at a bit of a loss for words after looking at the picture for a bit and reading the description. Really pulled at my heartstrings for a minute.
Nice work all around! I especially like the night sky and the flames in the distance. The expressions and forms of the unicorn mother and her foal are especially powerful...

Head canon, it's a term used for a fan made scenario of what should happen in a show. Like thinking ancient unicorns were alive in Equestria until dragons destroyed some of them, leaving them somewhat extinct. ^^

Ancient unicorn is a rare unicorn, maybe 1000s of years ago before Celestia ruled over, there were species separated into far away lands and looked a lot different than they do now.

I like the ancient unicorn a lot. I'm trying to work on my own as well as making a pony style. It's really hard to make a style of your own.
