This might be the closest character that I've had to a Gemsona since Macana Diamond. I'll still use MD and January, but Pink Opal will join them as one of my closest-to-real-me Gemsonas!

Pink Opal is... um... eccentric. Yeah, let go with that. She was never quite the loyal Gem that she was made to be. And going on the theory that Pink Diamond's soldier were the most "human" Gems in the Great Diamond Authority, her attitude makes a lot more sense. Think of her as Amethyst with a mix of Stevonnie, a helping of Smoky Quartz, and a touch of canon Opal. That is to say, she is usually rather wild, and loves to have fun, but she has some sense in her, and wouldn't do something stupid on instinct, she'd think through it first. If you think that Smoky Quartz was a self depriciating comedian, then you haven't met Pink Opal. She doesn't think too highly of herself, but at least she has a better concept of self worth than Steven, Pearl, and Amethyst. She knows that she's perfect how she is, and that she has the right to be free, but at the same time, she can't help but feel like she's a failiure to her Homeworld. Sometimes she wants to see Homeworld again, but then again, she'd never stay, as soon as she was found she'd either be shattered or sent back to her outpost that she stayed at before she rebelled, far from Homeworld. There was no music there, no life. Her only company was a emotionally constipated Chalcedony, but who knows if she's still there or not. She was probably replaced with a different Quartz, or worse, a Agate. She doesn't remember a lot of her life before she rebelled, but it's not because she has a bad memory. On the contrary, Pink Opal has a great memory, so crystal clear that it becomes a problem when she remembers all of the horror that she's witnessed.

Opal never participated in the war. She's actually very stealthy, and rather graceful, both on the dancefloor and on the battlefield. She used her Gem specific skills to avoid any battle, and in this timeline, quite a few Crystal Gems escaped the war, as the Diamonds corruption weapon didn't work (since it's confirmed to be a light and a sound, I think that in this timeline, the Diamonds sang a corruption song, only for it to not travel to Earth, assuming that the Diamonds were on a ship or the Moon Base. The sound just didn't travel far enough, and the light was lost to the void of space. Perhaps they were too far away. Whatever the case may be, from the Diamond's perspective, the weapon was successful. They sang it perfectly, and the light went off. They didn't bother checking the Earth, and went on their merry way. Any Gems remaining from either side fought to the death, leaving more Crystal Gems alive than in the canon timeline, but any Gems remaining were either Crystal Gems that weren't shattered in battles in the aftermath of the corruption bomb or Homeworld Gems that had accepted that they were stuck here and made their home in seclusion. There are corrupted Gems in this timeline, but they are Gems that were close enough to the Diamond's song and light to be affected, and most crashed their ships onto Earth, although some crashed on other planets, and a number of corrupted Gems are crawling around at the Moon Base, as the Diamonds left them to rot. Gems that were high up in Earth's atmosphere on the side closest to the Diamonds were also close enough to be affected, but everyone else was spared.

Opals (in my headcanon) are generally soldiers above the Ruby class, but under the Quartz class, somewhere in the middle, leaning more towards the Quartz class side. Consider them a slightly upper middle class Gem type. Their size is generally inbetween Quartz and Ruby size as well, with normal Opals being on average about 5 foot 8 inches tall.
