2012 Personal Piece.I needed to make something to get back into the swing of things. Then I realised I had only one image of Dox, in which he is just a wee lil' bubby. So here he is, all grown up and in all his handsome, beasty goodness.

I made the rain brush myself just by using a small, hard brush set on pen pressure for both opacity and brush size. I created a new canvas (only small - about 300x300) and just did a single stroke of the brush to represent a single drop of rain. Then I saved it as a brush preset. Once it was saved, all I did was fiddle with scatter, size jitter, opacity jitter and spacing settings. I actually ended up with four layers of rain - one for the farthest, tiniest drops, one for the in-focus rain, one for the slightly-further-forward-but-not-too-close drops, then a last one for the really close ones. The main difference between the layers was the size of the brush. Very simple. Then I just blurred the three out-of-focus-layers to make it look realistic (obviously I blurred them differing amounts depending on how 'close' they were to the 'focus' of the image).
