This is not a political statement. This is a "what-if" scenario and all coincidences are incidental. I DO NOT endorse splitting of regions from Russia. If anything, this should be viewed in a patriotic way - russian people will find a way to unite even with Western pressure on them.
With that out of the way:

This map depicts a union between two states with different fate. This is a "pessimist-case" scenario of economic implosion of Southeast Europe. Kuban has a larger economy and still managed to do a bit of expansion, getting a very important ally of Karachay-Balkaria. Probably tatar Crimea is also their ally. But Sevastopol represents a city with a small economy but taken Slavic refugees from Crimea. They declared an alliance to circumvent some outer restrictions on Sevastopol city.
