I'd like to start off by saying wow, what a beautiful image!
The very first thing I notice is that amazing gown, and the lovely model, whose expression and pose is fantastic--she exudes elegance, but has a princess-in-the-tower air about her while managing to maintain a slight arrogance as well--the perfect countess.
The styling overall is fantastic--the colors and period pieces all work together wonderfully to fill out this scene; my one issue with this might have been that the colors are all so similar that it may come across as a little monochromatic, and the wallpaper is a tad busy and distracting, but definitely adds to the richness and luxury of the setup. Little details such as the plant in the background, the clock on the table, the sweep of tassels on the curtain, all give the location more life to me, and, even if the model doesn't interact with them directly, they give her context. The fuzzy thing on the floor between the rug and the clock-table, I'm not sure about, it is a tiny bit distracting.
The photography is great, too--fantastic use of light to emphasize our countess and the rich textures in this luxurious room; the wide angle also contributes to the scale and grandeur of this scene. A slightly shallower depth-of-field might have been nice--with so many busy textures and patterns it could help draw attention to the countess, who gets a little lost in it all. I think the texture may be unnecessary, even distracting; while it does add a vintage sort of look to the image, it also makes it feel rather dirty somehow, and contrasts with the image of wealth and cleanliness of this countess--I'm sort of on the fence about the texture, it both works and it doesn't.

In all, though, it's a really stunning, cinematic image, full of beautiful texture and detail and emotion. Excellent work!

Alright so your a girl placed in this big room with all these things and you have to make eyes look at you. For me this wasn't a big impact because of the simplicity, however, the room creates a lovely scene, very beautiful with its architecture and such. If anything, you draw out its beauty. Everything about you just seems to be highly advanced compared to the room itself. You look like a true beauty that belongs in that room in that time-frame and its very impressive the way you seem to fit within the scene. This is very lovely.

I will try to make this critique short & straight to the point, again this is just my opinion on how I view this work of art and I am simply doing what the artist asked, which is to critique the work shown.

Countess, is very vivid and dynamic with its' imagery everything pops out you when viewing it. The color scheme was well portrayed and the model's much lighter tone dress contrast nicely with the surrounding colors. The windows and sunlight give it that majestic feel, like an adult fairytale theme.

The model's costume is very ideal for the picture, yet her pose was elegant, I'm curious to know what she was glancing at, maybe if she was turned towards the camera or window or even an object in the room it would've seemed more realistic, as of know her perspective kinda seems staged, though till very beautiful and delicate. Her dress kinda throws me off as well, I'm guess it has different multiple pieces as for the backside covers majority of the area and the front only dangles to her side, it was a bit confusing.

The lighting here was cast very well, I usually see a lot of darker toned images like this but "Countess" has lighten the mood for what I'm used to. Everything seems to go hand and hand for the image as whole, yet another distraction is it seems though this may come off as photo manipulation somewhat. I can see where areas of grunge lead across the window to the walls and on forth across the floor and even to the curtains. I hate to point that out maybe its just how the lighting is but thats how I view it in my eyes. The rug also goes well but it seems as if the floor intertwines with it in some areas and the fabric in front of the clock stand can be a little annoying to the eye.

As for the entire picture "Countess" deserves five stars, I believe it served its purpose of being a great work of art and I appreciate a.deviantart.net/avatars/o/p/o… " alt=" " title="Ophelias-Overdose"/> for sharing it with us all.

This piece is excellent, by no means can I stress that enough. The lighting is great, the angle of the image is spot on that it shows enough of but not too much of the scenery that it takes focus away from the model.

The dress work is brilliant, looking great as part of the scene but stands out enough that it doesn't just blend in with the background.

The model is also very beautiful and has done a great job with her make up and hair to make her face stand out against the rest of the image.

Though this photograph's theme isn't by any means original, the technique and choices made for the image set it apart from the crowd in quality.

one word comes to mind when i look at this picture: Whoa. this model stands out from the entire room (is this on location because a bunch of people are asking that) which is a normal looking room (even though it's fabulous!!) and shows she's not affected by whatever's going on around her. also, the dress is phenomenal!! it's beautiful, simple yet has a sort of elegance towards the design and how she also carries it. a lot of people has done something like this many, many, MANY TIMES, but it's the only one that seems truly great!!! i love it!!!

The model and the photograph are both beautiful and detailed, but it might help clear the focus of this if you were to crop this just to the edge of he lounge chair. Then she is a third to the right but you can still see where she is looking and that line of perspective. Then if you bring the top of the crop down then it will keep your photograph from looking too square. Also it will again help bring a better focus onto your model. Sometimes having something dead center makes it less interesting. But this is an amazing photograph!

Beautiful picture. The only thing i don't like about this picture is that i find my eyes looking at the room and not you which is rare because your always the focal point. The room might overpower the picture of you because there is so big and it almost overpowers you. You kind of fade in with the room rather than being the main focal point. This is the first picture of you that i have ever noticed that happening in. Normally no matter what is going on my eyes notice you and you are the focal of the picture.
