Hm I disagree with the person who critiqued this. The *reason* why the background is a little basic is because if anything else were added it would just be TOO MUCH. The focus is *not*the background, it is the person, and I think that's conveyed through the retro-looking spokes spiraling around her--they draw your eye inward to center the model. Thus, the background has its purpose and the photo is perfect the way it is. You have to balance everything, and I really think Overdose did a great job with that. It doesn't *need* anything else in the background. As the saying goes, less can be more, and in this case, more to the background would just be too much icing on the already perfect cake.
