No, I do not run around eating babies or offering sacrifices to Satan.I can get along with just about anyone, but sometimes people just annoy me. I'm not talking about the average, good-hearted Christian or Jew or whatever religion--I'm talking about the f***king annoying, in-your-face, I'm-right-and-you're-evil fundamentalist types.
Before you tell me I deserve to die/go to hell/insert-hate-filled-comment-here*, ask yourself one thing: when was the last time you heard of someone being murdered in the name of atheism?
*Seriously, some of these religious types seem to have a thing for schadenfreude. Why else would they say things like, "You're going to burn in hell and I'm just gonna laugh!"

I'm a Catholic and I don't mind atheists. /shrug/ I don't think they're all evil or going to hell either? That's just stupid. I mean, live and let live. I also don't condone in any way theists hating atheists or vice versa. More of us are reasonable than it might appear.

This was months ago, so I don't completely remember what this was about, but I do remember gwarnage. I've seen him post links to anti-atheist YouTube videos in the comment sections of other atheist posts. I thought that his link was another one of those. I didn't actually check the link.

I honestly don't remember. A few months ago I had made a major life change in regard to organized religion and I was not too concerned with starting conflicts. I've taken a much needed break from the internet since then and I honestly regret some of the arguments I entered, and a few that I started. Let's just agree that conflict is stupid and move on, even if we don't remember what was going on.Β

The Judeo-Christian God has several influences from older cultures, such as the Greek Zeus and, I think, Amon-Ra the Egyptian sun god.
And, you're right. The only difference is one god for everything vs. several gods for different things.

I knew good people. Then they got into religion.. I need to find new people. ._.
It.. kinda ruined them. XP And I'm stuck living with control freaks that are always sulky and upset and strict now because of God. Before they got into it, they were fun loving and energetic, happygolucky, fun to be around, nice to be with. Since religion came into the picture, they yell about the tiniest things and aren't at all thankful for things. ._. It's.. Kinda sad..
I'm not just atheist because of that, but it's a reason. Religion just isn't worth it to me. :I Few people respect my decision. =_=

Sad part is, there are a lot of religious people who are smart and don't try to force their views on others. But it's the loudmouth holier-than-thou types that get all the attention. You know, the ones who scream and whine at everything that doesn't reek of their religion, and who bitch about being oppressed when people try to make things more welcome and equal for everyone else or speak up about their views. As for the oxymoronic belief that atheists are devil-worshippers, it's because these same people think everything that isn't according to their religious views is evil/satanic.
Whatever, that's my rant for the day.

XP I agree. I know some people that are kinda okay, but everyone I know that's into religion is just.. I dunno what to call it. All I know is, it's annoying, and it kinda hurts sometimes. Like with the really over-controlling ones. And people that refuse to let themselves associate with anyone outside that religion.. It.. Kinda makes me sad. Seems like they're being sort of racist to other religions and people.
