Description Finally I was inspired to do some art! I owe that to the beautiful model, who is just perfect for the goddess Hecate in the stock pic!
Hecate was probably a pre-Olympic Great Goddess. When she was incorporated to the Greek pantheon, her background became confusing: some said she was a titan, some others, a goddess. She became the companion of Persephone in the underworld and was known as the goddess of crossroads, ghosts and magic. Still, she was giving and loving to her devotees and was part of the Eleusian Mysteries. She was portrayed with a torch.
With time, as paganism faded, she was better known as the typical hag, and it is possible she is the real "Diana" who appeard in the famous "Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches", an 1899 book by Charles Godfrey Leland, allegedly, on Stregheria (Italian witchcraft).
The looks of Hecate here are inspired by the Orphic Hymn to the goddess ([link] )

Finalmente me he inspirado para hacer arte!
te complaces con los oscuros fantasmas que vagabundean en la sombra;
líder y enfermera, presencia nuestros ritos;
lideres y cuidadores presencian nuestros ritos;
