Description They say all children are innocent. But that's not true. Well, at least not entirely. I've been tracing a series of newspaper-articles for quite some time now. Maybe you came across one of them, too.  All over Michigan, there have been break-ins, all following the same pattern: The victims were always families with young children, the intruders entered through an open window or a crushed-in basement window; they slit the parents' throats, abducted  the children and stole nothing but cash money and food. Seven families had become victims so far, mothers and fathers all found dead in their beds, the children missing. Not a sign of them had been found yet.
The reason why I follow these articles so closely is - well, it all started here, in my hometown. Barbara and Matthew Wilkens, who lived just down the street, were the first victims of this killing spree.  The police found their bodies on the 27th of February 2013, after someone called the police to check on them, for they had not been to work for a whole week. Their daughters - Brittany and Chloe - have been missing ever since, and that really scares me. Brittany was my age, 14, and we went to the same school. She was a nice girl, shy but kind, and really pretty, with long blond hair and blue eyes, like her sister and her mother. Chloe was seven when she went missing, she used to be a happy girl - I often saw her on the playground on my way home - until she went to school. She became very silent, always facing the floor, not laughing anymore. We are a small school, only about 50 students, primary and secondary school (which share a building) totalled up, so everyone notices when someone behaves oddly. That's only been a few weeks before it happened.
But it only got weird when the police started to investigate, because two things about all this are more than just strange:
The first: They found no trace of a fight anywhere - okay, maybe the intruders were able to sneak up on Mister and Misses Wilkens and to kill them while they were still deep asleep - but what about Brittany and Chloe? Didn't they try to defend themselves? Did they just walk out of the door safe and sound, without any dispute?
And the second thing...they found pictures of Brittany and Chloe on Mister Wilkens' laptop. And I'm not talking about the kind of picture you put into your family album.
Then, two weeks later, they found the second couple murdered and their young son missing. At first the police wanted to believe in a coincidence. I didn't, 'cause - guess what they found on the fathers laptop?
And after the third couple even the police could not deny the existence of a serial killer any longer. They call him the Michigan-Piper now, because of the abducted children. Now, the reason that I'm writing this - okay, it  sounds weird as hell, but my theory about what's going is...well...what if the Michigan-Piper is not an adult? What if those kids just had enough and...I don't know, joined forces or something? Or Brittany and Chloe started it and now the others join them, one by one? The reason that I came up with that theory was the last newspaper-article. In it they mentioned small footprints, that were found in the patches surrounding the house, way too small to be those of an adult. One might say those were just the ones of kids playing in the garden, or the families kid walking away, but they leaded towards the house, and it was not only one pair of footprints...but ten of them.

Wow, what should I say about that... I guess, keep your windows closed at night. And when your friend is gone, don't search for her. Just know: She'll be alright.
